| Holly followed her assumed nuts human Artemis through the rain falling through the tree limbs cursing. "Artemis, are you crazy?!" Artemis reached twords her voice and grasped her wrist. "Hang on!" Holly clamped a hand over her mouth to muffle a scream as Artemis leapt up into a tree, hidding in the dense branches with her trailing behind him. The two officers ran past their tree a few minutes later. Artemis grinned and took Holly around the waist, jumping to the ground with her flicking his ear. He set her down, and she spat at him. "What are you doing?" Artemis motioned twords the SUV. "Getting a ride. You drive?" Holly blinked. "Me drive a human vehical?" She grinned evily. "Once or twice." Artemis sat strapped into the back of the police van, Holly speeding twords his home of Dublin. "Think you could slow down?" Holly scowled at him. "You wanted a ride, and you got one." They skidded over dead animals as rain battered the outside of the car. A glimmer of light caught Artemis's attention and he reached down to pull out his missing person's report. He smiled. Evidence better left destroyed. With two swift movements, he ripped it up and brushed off his hands. "Alright, get ready to jump!" Artemis laughed as they pulled into his driveway. "Funny, Holly." She pulled the car up to the front steps and sheilded up. "Be good, and try not to get into any more trouble, ok?" Artemis unbuckled and opened the door. "No promises, but thank you for helping me." Holly took something out of her pocket and tossed it at him. Artemis caught the small tracker before it caught on his shoulder. "I know, I know. No more wandering off." Holly waited until Artemis had closed the door behind him and was standing three feet away from the car before darting off back to the woods where the officers had been. _________________ Practice makes perfect, but even if no one's perfect, still practice.

| Artemis watched her drive away, sighing. Loich... I'll miss your contagious smile... He turned to the Manor, grasping his elbow with his free hand as rain fell around his skinny form. Lightning flashed and thunder rolled, Artemis trudging up to the front doors to his home. He took the door handle, opening the right door and taking a step inside the warm building. "Who's there?" His father's voice echoed in the empty hallway as Artemis closed the door quietly behind him. Artemis's mother stood in her nightgown at his side, clinging to his suit shoulder. "Is it the police? Have you found my son?" There was a short silence. "Mother? Father?" Artemis choked. The two parents looked at each other and ran to his side, hugging him tightly. "Artemis!" Artemis felt their warmth like never before, smiling into the worried faces as they kissed his pale forehead. Angeline sobbed, "Oh, Artemis! Where were you? You worried your father and me sick!" Artemis the first took Artemis's face in his hands. "My son. Are you alright?" Artemis pulled his scarf off, holding it in his hand as his arm dropped to his side. "I am." Angeline pushed his shaggy bangs out of his crystal blue eyes. "Where did you go?" Artemis lowered his gaze. "I was staying with a friend, in a small town not far from here," he lifted his eyes to glance at his parents. "I'm sorry." The couple hugged him. "We're just glad your safe." Artemis felt his knees begin to shake. It must be midnight, judging how dark it was throughout the mansion. He looked up to the top of the steps to see Butler watching from the banister. The body guard nodded, turning and disappearing up the dark hallway. _________________ Practice makes perfect, but even if no one's perfect, still practice.

| Hm... It's different... But I must ask this: since when did Artemis buy those ridiculous (as he put them) machines? Otherwise, he would have been stumbling quite a lot. |

| You know, treadmills, etc... He says it in the second book. He said that if made it out alive, he was going to buy those machines. But I never read anything about machines yet. |

| This takes place after the fourth book. Now, what about machines? You mean Artemis the first? _________________ Practice makes perfect, but even if no one's perfect, still practice.

| I see... I mean Artemis Fowl the Second! If you must find it, look in the second book! The part where they are near a train. |

| *humph* Fine. I'll finish this up later. /EDIT _____________ After an hour of check overs to make sure he wasn't disease-ridden, Artemis's parents let him climb the steps to his room. He stopped before his door, sighing. His hand reached out and grasped the knob and he pushed the door open, not suprised to see Butler standing by his window. Butler turned around as he entered. "Artemis." Artemis rubbed his head. "Butler." He felt something in his pocket. Butler crossed the room to stand in front of him, and they both said at once, "I'm sorry." Artemis held up his hands. "Butler, I apologize. I shouldn't have run off like that." Butler shook his massive head. "No, I apologize. I shouldn't have been so harsh." Artemis put his hands on his hips. "Maybe, but I wasn't thinking. I need more self-control." Butler smiled. "And I have to remember what it's like being a teenager." Artemis smiled back, sliding his hand into his jeans pocket. Butler sized him up. "Where did you get those clothes? It looks like you lived a whole other life!" Artemis's eyes widened and he fingered a chain, "Oh, these are from the family I stayed with. They had a son die that was just my size. But," he pulled out a silved four-leaf clover locket that matched Loich's necklace. "I have no idea where this came from." Butler gaped at it. "What's written on the back?" Artemis twisted it around with a pale finger, almost taking a step back. Welcome to the family. Butler crossed his arms. "Where exactly did you stay?" Artemis examined the ingraving, intrigued. "At a home with bakery owner. Miss Matitiu was her name, and she found me. Her husband was Marty, I think, and her daughter--" Butler narrowed is eyes. "Daughter?" Artemis nodded absentmindedly. "Yes. Loich. She was a wonderful dancer." Butler cocked an eyebrow. "You danced with her? What else did you--" Artemis gave him an exasperated look, glancing up from the locket. "Please, Butler. Holly already gave me the once-over. I slept in the livingroom on the couch the second night, because the first night she had school to attend." Butler smiled gently. "I see. And did you like this girl?" Artemis backed up to his computer chair and sank into it. "Loich and her family were such pure people, it's hard not to like them." Butler crossed his arms. "Did they take it alright when you left?" Artemis sighed heavily. "I beleive Loich was fairly upset, but I didn't tell her parents I was leaving. She probrably explained it better anyway." Butler shifted. "It's not like you to upset a lady." Artemis chuckled. "Not like I did it on purpose. I would never do that to Loich." Butler checked his watch. "I see. Well, I'll let you get some sleep, and maybe we can go see this family in the morning." Artemis blushed. "I doubt they'd like a visit from me." Butler walked to the door. "You never know." As thedoor slid closed behind him, Artemis frowned. "More riddles." _________________ Practice makes perfect, but even if no one's perfect, still practice.

| Fine then. I suppose you know what I mean by now anyhow. He puts his hands on his hips? That is different. Also you could space it out a bit more. Such as if someone says something, it should start a new paragraph. But if you do not want to do it, you can ask one of the editors. |
